About Smart Water Initiative

Collecting and analysing frequent and accurate data on how we use water can go a long way towards helping our water management become more efficient. '

Panaji PWD and Panaji Smart City have undertaken the task of creating a Smart Water Grid in Panaji city in a phased rollout. This includes replacing old mechanical water meters with new Smart Water Meters, and creating an integrated, on-line decision-support system based on continuous in-network monitoring.

Phase 1, which included replacing 3000, old meter (of which over 60% were non functional) is already complete

How does this impact me?

If you are in the St. Inez, Fontainhaas or Caranzalem region, it is very likely that your meter has been updated to a Smart Meter. There are various changes that are taking place after the installations are complete. Your bill cycles will change and you may see a difference in the total bill amount that you are used to paying. Please read our FAQ section to know more about this process and if you still have any questions, queries, suggestions or complaints please feel free to reach out to us using the chat bubble below.
